For those who applied for Green Card Lottery last year in October - November application, the results are out on May 7th, 2019 [at Noon (12:00pm) of Eastern Standard Time (which is New York time) which will likely be in the evening depending on your time zone, like 7:00pm in East Africa] You can check your results anytime, any day after being published.
HOW TO SEE YOUR RESULTS: Open the DV Lottery Website www.dvlottery.state.gov and you will see CHECK STATUS. You will use the confirmation numbers you were given during application last year. You will put those numbers, your surname and year of birth to see the results. The results will show YOU ARE SELECTED (ie You've won) or YOU ARE NOT SELECTED.
If you are selected, you will be given new CASE NUMBERS starting with 2020AFXXXX AF for Africa and other starting letters for other regions. You will need to fill the new form DS260 which will be used for your visa and other processes.
In case YOU ARE NOT SELECTED (you didn't win), don't lose hope. The next application (DV2021) will be opened in normal time, from the first week of October until the first week of November 2019.
