University of Twente is offering a graduate program or master scholarships (MSc) in various fields of study. For international students, this program may more popular as UTS scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded to excellent students from non-EU/EEA countries to obtain their master degree in any fields of study which are available.

Eligibility:
Applicants have been admitted/provisionally accepted to one of the above mentioned UT graduate programmes before 15 December (round 1) or 15 March (round 2).

Applicants have graduated with excellent results (overall CGPA) from applicantsr (under-graduate programme.

Applicants comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa for long stay in the Netherlands.

Applicants comply with the general English language test norm Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the subscore of speaking skills.

Applicants are a national from a non-EU/EEA country .

Applicants are not eligible for a Dutch study grant.

Applicants have completed a pre-master at the University of Twente (if applicable).

If applicants are starting a ‘pre-master’ programme applicants may already apply for a UTS. However, applicants must complete applicantsr pre-master programme with a CGPA of 7,5 out of 10 to be eligible for a UTS and comply with above mentioned requirements.

Scholarship Value :
There are two possible UTS scholarship amounts for one year study programmes and two for two year programmes. The amounts for the 2013 scholarships shall be determined autumn 2012.

Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS)

The Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS) is awarded to international students wishing to undertake graduate research degree studies at the University of Melbourne. MIRSs are funded by the University with each faculty having a limited number to award. 

Number

Each year the University offers about 200 new Melbourne Research Scholarships (MRSs), of which about 150 are normally awarded to international students as MIRSs.

Benefits and conditions

Benefits provided by the MIRS include:
  • living allowance of $23,728 per annum (2012 rate) 
  • Relocation Grant of $2,000 awarded to students who are moving from interstate in order to study at the University of Melbourne or $3,000 awarded to those who are moving from overseas
  • Thesis Allowance of up to $420 (2012 rate) for masters by research and up to $840 (2012 rate) for PhD and other doctorate by research candidates, and 
  • paid sickmaternity and parenting leave.

Doctoral Research Fellow positions in Linguistics

Three PhD positions in Linguistics are vacant at the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies (ILN), the Department of Literature, Area Studies and European Languages (ILOS) and the Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas (IFIKK). Priority will be given to projects within the field of multilingualism, contrastive linguistics, corpus linguistics, and language learning/acquisition. Projects concerning translation may also be considered. The research topics should be connected to strong research environments at one of the three departments.

The appointment is for a period of 3 years and the doctoral thesis is expected to be completed within the given time frame.

The person appointed will be affiliated with the Faculty's organized research training. The academic work must result in a doctoral thesis that will be defended at the Faculty with a view to obtaining the degree of PhD. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TRAINING AND MASTER PROGRAMMES IN FLANDERS, BELGIUM

VLIR-UOS awards scholarships to students from Africa, Asia and Latin-America to follow a training or master programme at a Dutch speaking university or university college in Belgium. The eligible training or master programmes are taught in English. They are designed for people in positions of responsibility in civil society.

The scholarships cover all related expenses. For application, please visit the website of the training or master programme. You can apply for a scholarship from October 2012 (master programmes) or November 2012 (master programmes organised at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and all training programmes).   3. Receive a return e-mail from the Flemish host university or university college.
  4. Send a printout of your application file along with all required documents (diploma transcripts, motivation, etc…) to the International Office of the host university or university college (not to VLIR-UOS!). You will find the information on the website of the programme.
